Fox News Promotes McCain, Criticizes Obama

Well look at Fox News. As the time withers away till the November 4th election, Fox shows who they support.

On the homepage of FoxNews.com every elections related article either was for support of the McCain/Palin campaign or criticized the Obama/Biden campaign.

Two articles bashing the Obama campaign included one titled Did Biden Get It Wrong? You Betcha (link) and a second that read like a cheap tabloid magazine: Obama Payback?

At the same time, Fox blared that Joe the Vet, the start of his own video, which is now an Internet Sensation, supports John McCain (link).

Lastly, in Fox's Features & Faces section, they displaced a very 'kind' image of McCain and an image of Palin stating that "Designers give thumbs up to Palin's pricey $150,000 designer wardrobe" (link).

CBS for Obama

After viewing CBS's website, they give me the feeling that they are more leftwing and support Obama. The first large picture on their site is a large picture of Obama. When looking at the lists of articles, there is about the same amount of material for Obama as McCain, but Obama is always mentioned first and given the more positive articles. As for the videos, it is about the same thing, Obama first, then McCain. Another advantage that they gave to Obama is the fact that they have 2 videos about his wife and none about McCain's wife. The pictures for Obama were also of better quality and just gave him a better appearance than McCain.

MSNBC..Biased? nah

While parosing around the MSNBC website, I found that the website is not biased to either political party more so than the other. For instance, MSNBC had some information about about Obama's past, but right underneath it it has something about Mccains past. If feel other wise, please replay to this post

Obama ahead in Critical Counties

A very interesting article posted by Politico/Insider Advantage survey, argues that the political leads that Sen. Barack Obama holds in four key counties that will have a large impact on determining the eventual winner in four important swing states — Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Mixed Bias From FoxNew.com

When visiting the FoxNews.com political news section (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/index.html), there was conflicting bias being shown.

Concerning article count, there were 6 news articles directly related to the two primary presidential candidates.

Four articles were describing events favoring Barack Obama.
Zero articles were describing events not favoring Barack Obama.

One article was describing events favoring John McCain.
One article was describing events not favoring John McCain.

The one video displaying both candidates was for an event, on Thursday October 16th, were both McCain and Obama took a break, from their campaignes, to test their comedic skills.

In terms of length, of coverage, John McCain was given approximately 73 seconds, of air time, while Obama was given approximately only 43 seconds.

One thing to note is that the preview, for the video clip, displays a very non-flattering portrait of Barack Obama.

Fox News 10/17/08:

Fox News, as it has shown, in the past, heavily favors Republican, versus Democratic, issues. While considering article count, Fox News seemed to favor Barack Obama, the Democratic Presidential Nominee, but considering the video clip, Fox News seemed to favor John McCain, the Republican Presidential Nominee.
